Quick facts: In July 2006, NEC and BHEL signed a BTG and EPC contract for the $457.5mn, Kosti power station. The site is 6km east of Rabak city, White Nile state. Fichtner was ownerâ€™s engineer. UNit-4 was synchronized on 20 Jun 2013 and the plant was inaugurated by President El-Basheer on 5 February 2016. Design fuel is local crude oil. The stacks are 120m tall.

BHAVANI INTERNATIONAL has been awarded the operation & maintenance contract of 4 X 125 MW KOSTI THERMAL POWER STATION, SUDAN in 2012. This is the largest Thermal power station in Sudan.
KTPS the largest thermal power plant of Sudan, was inaugurated by His Excellency Omer Hassan Ahmed El-Basheer, President of Sudan,
KTPS is BHEL's (BHARATH HEAVY ELECTRICALS LIMITED) largest oil-fired thermal power plant in the overseas market and also its first crude-oil fired thermal power plant in Africa.
From 2012 BHAVANI operating the complete power plant with maximum PLF of 98.6% and 100 % PAF.
BEPL has been appreciated and awarded the contract renewed consistently. BEPL has been awarded with O&M contract for 2 years for both 2017 and 2018.
